On Tuesday, the Home voted to take away Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as Speaker of the Home by a vote of 216-210, with eight becoming a member of Home Democrats to approve Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-FL) movement to take away.
Throughout Hannity’s broadcast on FNC on Tuesday, host Sean Hannity claimed that some Home Republicans are making an effort to “draw” former President Donald Trump as a possible alternative for McCarthy.
“Historical past on Capitol Hill tonight,” Hannity stated. “Eight Republican lawmakers joined with all 208 Home Democrats to take away Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the Home — for the primary time in our nation’s historical past. McCarthy is not going to search the Speaker of the Home once more.
“Now, sources inform me at this hour that some Home Republicans have been in touch and have begun efforts to draft former President Donald Trump as the following speaker,” he stated. He added: “I have been instructed that President Trump could be open to serving to the Republican Social gathering, at the very least within the quick time period, if mandatory, if mandatory.”
